After doing quite a bit of research, and having some concern over the negative review, I purchased this unit primarily because of the large capacity. I had never owned a Cuisinart appliance before.
This coffee maker delivers on all fronts but needs to be attended to carefully. I use the Melita style (triangular filters). Others have commented on using the gold filter (reusable) but I find that this allows for coffee ‘grime’ to flow into the pot – paper filters appear to do a much better job at filtering.
Did you know that in order to use a paper filter properly, you need to fold the two sides? I did not – originally – and after stumbling upon the directions, found that any issues with filter lineup gone after properly folding it.
